Our handcrafted gold filled pieces here at Wolfie Art are made from high quality 14k gold that is heat bonded to the bass metal. Gold filled jewelry is a wonderful alternative to solid gold without spending a fortune. With proper love and care, gold filled jewelry will stay bright and beautiful for years to come.
Our gold filled jewelry is composed of a solid layer of 5% weight of gold mechanically bonded to a base of brass metal. The term "gold filled" is a regulated industry standard that requires the metal to consist of at least 5% pure gold by weight. Even with daily wear, these pieces can last 10 to 30 years. The layer of gold on gold filled items is 5 to 10 times thicker than that produced by regular gold plating.
Gold filled jewelry is hypoallergenic and nickel free. Our jewelry contains 5% weight of real solid gold.
Gold filled jewelry is water resistant but is recommend you remove it in salt water or chlorine. If your jewelry contains healing crystals or stones please make sure they are water safe before getting your piece wet! Wearing it while using basic lotions is fine but make sure that your lotion is dry before wearing your piece. Please remove it when putting on anything strong such as- retinol, peels, glycolic acid etc.
How to care for gold filled jewelry:
- Avoid wearing your gold filled jewelry in the ocean or swimming pools, as the salt water and chlorine can cause damage.
- Be mindful that perfume, hairspray and hand lotions may tarnish your gold filled jewelry due to the harsh chemicals they contain.
- Gently wipe your gold filled piece with a jewelry polishing, non-scratch cloth every now and again to promote shine.
- Keep your jewelry stored safe in a air tight bag or jewelry container.
